With a global workforce spanning the US, India, Philippines, Mexico, and the UK, our Corporate IT team plays a critical role in enabling productivity, supporting our people, and ensuring every employee has the infrastructure they need to do their best work.
Role Overview
The Network Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HealthEdge's corporate network infrastructure across our India offices. Working within a globally distributed network team, you will be the primary on-the-ground network resource for our India locations – managing office network stacks, supporting remote diagnostics across sites, and ensuring reliable, secure connectivity for thousands of employees.
This role operates with a high degree of technical autonomy, requiring strong expertise across switching, routing, wireless, and security. You will work closely with the Lead Network Engineer, security team, and infrastructure teams to deliver consistent, well-documented, and secure network operations across a complex multi-site environment.
What You'll Do
Network Operations & Maintenance
- Operate, maintain, and optimize corporate network infrastructure across HealthEdge's India office locations, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact end users
- Respond to and resolve network incidents, including escalations from the service desk, within defined SLA targets
- Perform routine maintenance including patching, firmware upgrades, and configuration backups
- Support on-call rotation for critical network incidents affecting India-based or globally shared infrastructure
Infrastructure Design & Implementation
- Participate in the design and deployment of network changes, expansions, and technology refresh projects across India office locations
- Implement and maintain VLANs, routing policies, QoS configurations, and access control lists in accordance with HealthEdge standards
- Support site-to-site VPN and remote access VPN infrastructure, including troubleshooting and configuration changes
- Assist with SD-WAN configuration and management for distributed office connectivity
- Contribute to network architecture decisions and standards documentation under the guidance of the Lead Network Engineer
Network Security
- Maintain and manage firewall policies, rule reviews, and security group configurations in coordination with the security team
- Support network segmentation initiatives and zero trust networking projects
- Monitor for and respond to network-layer security events, escalating to OpsSec as appropriate
- Ensure network configurations comply with HealthEdge security standards and relevant regulatory requirements
Wireless & Office Infrastructure
- Manage wireless network infrastructure across India offices including AP configuration, RF optimization, and guest network management
- Support conference room and office infrastructure connectivity including AV network requirements and physical network drops
- Coordinate with facilities and IT teams on office build-outs, expansions, and moves requiring network infrastructure changes
Documentation & Standards
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation including topology diagrams, IP address management (IPAM), and configuration records
- Document changes, incidents, and resolutions
- Contribute to and follow standard operating procedures, runbooks, and change management processes
- Support audit and compliance activities related to network infrastructure and security controls
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the service desk (T2/T3) on network-related escalations, providing expert guidance and resolution
- Coordinate with cloud and infrastructure teams on network requirements for AWS connectivity, datacenter links, and hybrid cloud architecture
- Work with vendors and ISPs on circuit provisioning, troubleshooting, and support cases
What You'll Bring
Required
- 4–7 years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in enterprise switching and routing – VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and related protocols
- Hands-on experience with enterprise firewall platforms
- Experience with enterprise wireless platforms
- Working knowledge of VPN technologies — both site-to-site and remote access
- Familiarity with SD-WAN platforms and distributed WAN architectures
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex network issues remotely across multiple sites
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
Preferred
- CCNP or equivalent certification (strongly preferred)
- Experience with firewalls
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts in AWS or Azure (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, or equivalent)
- Exposure to network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, or similar)
- Experience in a healthcare, SaaS, or other regulated industry environment
- Familiarity with SASE or zero trust network architecture
- Experience supporting a multi-site, globally distributed organization
What Success Looks Like
Within 90 days, you have a solid working knowledge of HealthEdge's India network environment, are independently handling day-to-day operations and incidents, and have identified any documentation gaps that need to be addressed. Within six months, you are the recognized on-the-ground network authority for India, proactively managing infrastructure health and contributing to network improvement projects. Within a year, you have a strong track record of reliable operations, have participated in at least one significant infrastructure project, and are contributing to the broader network team's standards and practices.
About the Team
