Overview

Overview: 

The Vendor Contracts Manager within the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Vendor Management Office department is responsible for managing the lifecycle of vendor engagements which directly impact business operations, customer delivery, and partner relationships. The Vendor Contracts Manager partners with business teams to monitor and manage vendor compliance and performance as it relates to contractual requirements. The Vendor Contracts Manager is responsible for maintaining contract documentation and monitoring key dates such as for renewals and expiration notices and engages in negotiating and facilitating contract renewals or terminations as needed 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Essential functions may vary depending on the specific focus of the role within the corporate health plan team 

 

  • Support business owners in managing key vendor relationships. Engage with vendor when needed for escalated issues. Track and manage issues as appropriateDevelop strong relationship with key vendor partners. 
  • Management and oversight of vendor performance based on contract terms (SLAs, financial terms, etc). Collect and report vendor SLA performance. Obtain RCAs and credits where appropriate for missed SLAs. 
  • Monitor contract renewals / deadlines / notice requirement and work with business to ensure appropriate action.  
  • Drive contracting activities with new and existing vendors including negotiating of favorable terms and rates.  
  • Optimize holistic business value of vendor contracts, including costand performance guarantee SLAs. 
  • Partner with legal team to Identify risks or gaps in contracts and recommend solutions to resolve contractual issues and protect the organization. 
  • Participate in evaluation of new vendors.  
  • Coordinate appropriate activities / approvals required to contract and do business with new and existing vendors (i.e. info sec, business, finance, compliance, etc.) prior to finalization of any contracts.  
  • Collaborate with business owners, legal, and procurement teams to negotiate and finalize contract terms and resolve contractual issues with vendors. 
  • Assist in preparing documentation for audits or internal reviews. 
  • Understand contractual language and obligations in key vendor partner contracts 
  • Maintain a centralized database of vendor contracts and track key dates (renewals, expirations). 
  • Understand contract value and assist in budgeting and forecasting of spend.   
  • Partner with Vendor Compliance and Information Security teams to ensure appropriate oversight of vendors, especially FDRs and high risk / value vendors. Ensure appropriate reporting of compliance issues.  
  • Support strategic sourcing and RFI/RFP processes to optimize vendor relationships and drive cost efficiencies, including working with business owners to draft requirements, evaluate proposals, and facilitate the vendor selection process. 
  • Support onboarding of new vendors and ensure compliance with internal policies.  Recommend improvements to contract templates and review workflows. Assist in preparing documentation for audits or internal reviews. 
  • Address invoicing issues with vendors. 
  • Provide input into renegotiations and renewals. Lead those activities as requested, including drafting of documents and facilitating contracting process.  
  • Offboard vendors upon contract termination 

 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field 

3+ years of experience in contract review, vendor management, or procurement 

Strong understanding of contracting language, processes and vendor relationships 

Excellent communicationrelationship and negotiation skills 

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills 

Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced, matrixed environment 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

Familiarity with contract lifecycle management tools preferred 

Understanding of industry trends and best practices in vendor management

**The annual US base salary range for this position is $126,000 to $135,000. This salary range may cover multiple career levels at HealthEdge. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process and is based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, your skills, experience, qualifications and education.
