Engineering Manager (Care Solutions Bengaluru)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Bengaluru-based Care Solutions engineering team. This role is critical in driving the development and integration of GuidingCare and Wellframe platforms, delivering innovative Digital Health Management solutions that meaningfully impact patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background combined with proven leadership experience, capable of managing cross-functional teams, driving technical excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation and ownership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & People Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6-10 software engineers across various experience levels (junior to senior)
- Conduct regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and career development discussions
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture that values innovation, customer-centricity, and continuous learning.
- Encourage adoption of AI tools and agentic AI workflows to enhance team productivity.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members
- Build and maintain high-performing teams with clear goals and accountability
Technical Leadership:
- Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions for Care Solutions integration
- Evaluate and integrate agentic AI capabilities to automate workflows and enhance platform intelligence.
- Oversee design and implementation of scalable, robust software solutions across Microsoft and Java ecosystems
- Ensure code quality, best practices, and adherence to coding standards through code reviews and technical governance
- Guide technology stack decisions balancing innovation with maintainability
- Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their applicability to the platform
- Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on complex technical challenges
Project & Delivery Management:
- Plan, prioritize, and manage project timelines, ensuring on-time delivery of features and integrations
- Break down complex initiatives into manageable tasks and milestones
- Coordinate with product managers to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps
- Manage dependencies and risks across multiple workstreams
- Establish and track engineering metrics (velocity, quality, uptime) to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure delivery-focused execution while maintaining quality standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Product Management to align engineering efforts with business goals and customer needs
- Collaborate with other engineering teams, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams for seamless integration
- Work closely with stakeholders to communicate progress, challenges, and technical decisions
- Coordinate with US-based teams and manage timezone differences effectively
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across global teams
Operational Excellence:
- Establish and manage on-call rotations and incident response processes
- Drive operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, and system reliability improvements
- Manage technical debt and balance feature development with platform stability
- Ensure compliance, security, and data privacy standards are met
- Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for efficient delivery
Strategic Contribution:
- Contribute to the overall engineering strategy and technical vision
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
- Drive innovation initiatives and proof-of-concepts for new technologies
- Manage vendor relationships and third-party integrations where applicable
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 8-12 years of software engineering experience
- 3-5 years of people management and team leadership experience
- Proven track record of delivering complex software projects
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Microsoft technologies (ASP.NET, MVC, C#, .NET Core)
- Deep understanding of JavaScript and front-end technologies (React, Angular or Vue.js)
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architectures
- Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architectures
- Proficiency in database technologies (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data modelling
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, Web Services, microservices patterns
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code
- Experience with version control systems (GIT) and branching strategies
- Experience leveraging AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and understanding of agentic AI frameworks for building intelligent automation

- Track record of driving technical transformation or modernization initiatives
- Active participation in tech communities, conferences, or open-source projects
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with data analytics and reporting for operational insights
- Previous experience with platform integrations and third-party APIs
- Understanding of Java, Spring Boot and microservices architecture is a Bonus.
