Overview

Position Overview: 

We are looking for a Senior Director of Product Management to join HealthEdge. Reporting to the VP of Product, this role will focus on strategic leadership, product management excellence, and team development. This position will likely have 3-5 direct reports. 

 

The Product: 

With HealthRules Payer, our integrated solutions suite includes the industry's leading, digital, next-generation claims administration processing system, business intelligence, integration capabilities, a unique to industry configuration and promotion application, and home and host processing support available on both public and private clouds. The fact is, a Core Administrative Processing System (CAPS) needs to do much, more more than just core administrative processing. Your Impact: 

Strategic Leadership 

  • Define and execute comprehensive product strategy for healthcare payer software solutions 
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align product roadmap with business objectives and market opportunities 
  • Lead/coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, data science, and go-to-market functions 
  • Drive product portfolio decisions, including build vs. buy vs. partner strategies 
  • Establish and monitor key product metrics and KPIs aligned with business outcomes 

Product Management Excellence 

  • Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle from concept through launch and optimization 
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats 
  • Manage product roadmap prioritization balancing customer needs, regulatory requirements, and business impact 
  • Lead requirements gathering and feature specification development 
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure timely, high-quality product delivery 
  • Drive user experience and design thinking across all product initiatives 

Healthcare Payer Domain Leadership 

  • Leverage deep understanding of healthcare payer operations, including claims processing, member management, provider networks, and care management 
  • Navigate complex regulatory environment including HIPAA, ACA, CMS requirements, and state regulations 
  • Understand healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, X12) and interoperability requirements 
  • Stay current with healthcare industry trends, policy changes, and emerging technologies 
  • Build relationships with key customers, industry partners, and stakeholders 

Team Development & Leadership 

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing product management team 
  • Establish product management best practices, processes, and frameworks 
  • Foster a culture of innovation, customer obsession, and data-driven decision making 
  • Collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders at all levels 
  • Represent the product organization in executive meetings and external industry events 

 

What You Bring:

  • 10+ years of product management experience in enterprise software 
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing product management teams 
  • 3+ years of healthcare payer, health plan, or healthcare technology experience 
  • Proven track record of launching successful B2B software products 
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and product analytics tools 
  • Deep understanding of healthcare payer business models and operations 
  • Knowledge of healthcare claims processing, member enrollment, and provider management 
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance requirements 
  • Experience with healthcare data standards and interoperability challenges 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Experience with product management tools 
  • Proficiency in data analysis and business intelligence tools 
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and technical architecture 
  • Knowledge of API design and integration patterns 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across organizations 
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and external stakeholders 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills 
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments 
  • MBA or advanced degree in relevant field 
  • Experience with cloud-based SaaS platforms and modern software architecture 
  • Background in healthcare analytics, machine learning, or AI applications 
  • Experience with government healthcare programs (Medicare, Medicaid) 
  • Previous experience at a high-growth technology company 
  • Industry certifications (PMP, CSPO, etc.) 
  • Experience with digital transformation initiatives
