Overview

Position Summary 
 
The Senior Technical Accountant will help support the Technical Accounting Senior Manager with ensuring timely and accurate accounting treatment of significant, complex, and non-routine transactions; assisting in monthly/quarterly close process; and supporting the compilation and analysis of data related to timely filing of Company’s external reporting documents. This role will provide opportunity to work closely with different teams (e.g. Corporate Accounting, Tax, Finance, Business development). 

What you will do: 

  • Support the annual financial audit process with schedule creation, document preparation, information requests, and other tasks 
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities 
  • Advise on proper accounting treatment for significant transactions via research, technical accounting analysis and contract review (Particularly with respect to ASC606, ASC 842, ASC 718, and ASC 340) 
  • Conduct and document technical accounting research of non-routine accounting transactions to conclude on the appropriate application of US GAAP requirements 
  • Participate in due diligence on potential acquisitions and assist in integrations  
  • Assist with preparing and maintaining corporate accounting policies 
  • Ensure timely execution and review of month-end and quarter-end close activities including, but not limited to preparing journal entries, account reconciliation, analysis and reporting 
  • Assists with drafting of annual financial statements  
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams to address accounting matters 
  • Assists with other Ad-Hoc Accounting and Finance needs or projects 

 

What you bring: 

  • 3-5 yrs of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
  • Active or actively working towards CPA license 
  • Big 4 accounting experience preferred, auditing and/or advisory experience preferred 
  • Working knowledge of financial statements, US GAAP, external reporting, and strong quantitative skills 
  • Ability to research complex accounting issues and desire to expand technical accounting expertise 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills 
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills 
  • Self-motivated with strong intellectual curiosity and ability to work independently 
  • Software/SaaS experience a plus 
  • Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, and Workiva a plus
