JOB TITLE: Application Services Engineer

JOB LOCATION: Burlington, Massachusetts 01803; REMOTE EMPLOYMENT IS AVAILABLE. TELECOMMUTING FROM ANY LOCATION IN THE UNITED STATES IS POSSIBLE FOR THIS POSITION.

REQUIRED TRAVEL: Up to 15% of all working days as needed.

REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Cloud Application Services

HOURS: Full-time; Occasional off-work hours (including weekends) required to perform upgrades in production environments. Majority of work is performed during normal business hours.

REQUIRED DUTIES:

• Responsible for installing and upgrading HealthEdge’s award-winning applications in the company’s private cloud, as well as customer-hosted instances, using a strong knowledge and development expertise in technologies used to run the HealthRules cloud.
• Leverage tools that are used to manage the environments, automation technologies, alerting, and 3^rd party applications.
• Serve an integral role on HealthEdge’s Cloud Operations Application Engineering team to run and manage application operations for HealthEdge’s clients.
• Design, implement, and improve processes and technology for HealthEdge’s applications.
• Perform upgrades in production environments.
• Identify knowledge gaps and close them.
• Recommend solutions for problems and communicate directly with senior management.
• Perform all job functions consistent with HealthEdge’s policies and procedures, including those which govern handling health care information.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field (foreign equivalent is acceptable) plus 2 years of employment experience in technical application support.

Employment experience must include:

• A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in deployment and system administration.
• A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in major J2EE middleware tier software offerings such as: WebLogic, WebSphere, or JBoss.
• A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in shell scripting.
• A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated employment experience in SQL, PL/SQL or related relational database technologies.
• A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated employment experience in Linux.
