Position Overview: 

Healthedge is looking for a Senior Java Developer who is passionate about solving real world business problems to join our team. As a Senior member of the team, you will be working on developing solutions that help our customers integrate with our product suite. You will be working as a problem solver with plenty of unique assignments within the department. You will be a key member involved with design discussions, coding on the backend and working heavily with the database and J2EE/integration technologies.

Your Impact:   

  • Work as part of agile team to implement new features according to the requirements while adhering to the best coding development standards
  • Conduct detailed designs and lead design whiteboarding and creation of solution architecture.
  • Lead in work-breakdown of tasks. Help with backlog grooming by breaking down epics into stories that meet Definition of Ready
  • Lead peer reviews of design and code
  • Coordinate release management and bug triaging.
  • Lead Technical discussions with HealthEdge Customers to find the best possible solutions.
  • Conduct bug fixing, Implement configuration migration process and other UAT readiness technical task
  • Perform data loads for UAT readiness and during UAT as requested by the UAT plan
  • Supports resolution of customer issues in production and non-production environments.
  • Contributes authoring the Implementation Operational Information and (for Support team) and companion spreadsheet for feeds
  • Performs configuration migration process and another PROD readiness technical task
  • Performs data loads for PROD readiness.
  • Perform all job functions consistent with HealthEdge policies and procedures, including those which govern handling PHI and PII.

What You Bring:  

  • A minimum of 10+ years of related experience in a commercial software development role
  • BS/MS Computer Science or equivalent
  • Hands-on development experience using Java, J2EE, XML, SOAP, REST and SQL
  • Experience in OOPS concepts and design patterns
  • Experience with Oracle or similar enterprise class RDBMS
  • Experience with Big data technologies such as Kakfa, Elastic Search, No SQL DB, Hadoop, Parque, Scoop etc.
  • Experience with Cloud technologies like AWS, Kubernetes, Docker
    Familiarity with micro services architecture and REST based WebServices
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, CI-CD pipelines and tools (Maven/Gradle, Ansible etc.)
  • Experience with test frameworks like Junit/TestNG etc.
  • Experience with applications servers (ex. Weblogic), containers and Spring Framework
  • Experience with performance optimization and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Linux and shell or other Unix scripting languages
  • Prior experience with healthcare applications is a plus
  • Experience in the full software development lifecycle using an Agile development process
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Geographic Responsibility: While HealthEdge is located in Burlington, MA you may live anywhere in the US. Occasional office presence is required, particularly during collaboration weeks, so it would be preferable if the resource is based in Massachusetts.
