Your Role
Healthedge is looking for a Technical Lead who is passionate about solving real world business problems to join our team. As a Senior member of the team, you will be working on developing solutions that help our customers integrate with our product suite. You will be working as a problem solver with plenty of unique assignments within the department. You will be a key member involved with design discussions, coding on the backend and working heavily with the database and J2EE/integration technologies.
You will be an experienced Java developer with background in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and enterprise application integration (EAI) concepts and development. You will be responsible for the design, implementation and development within Java ecosystem, on Azure, SpringBoot, AKS, Weblogic and karaf platforms. You will be involved in all phases of software development including requirements definition, design, architecture, development, testing, and integration to bring cutting edge technologies to market. You will also be helping team in modernising/re-architecting if required

- Work as part of agile team to implement new features according to the requirements while adhering to the best coding development standards.
- Lead in work-breakdown of tasks.
- Lead peer reviews of design and code.

- Take initiative to improve process, tools and product design and architecture to continuously evolve the system.
- Research, understand and implement best standard engineering practices in Design, Architecture, Technology, Process, Tools and documentation.
- Coach and mentor other team members.
- Translate requirements and designs into high-quality code.
- Optimize components for maximum performance and scalability.
- Participate in R&D, Proof of Concepts, Prototyping, Code reviews, Hackathons etc.
- Take full ownership of software development lifecycle including planning, design, architecture, development, quality & deployment while working alongside with product owner, quality engineer, scrum master
- Influences the development practices so that they follow best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Evaluate new technology solutions, innovation, evolution, and trade-offs.
- Ensure software products meet all non-functional requirements including operational and security needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking skills.
- Ability to document and explain technical details clearly and concisely.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s / master’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Excellent analysis, product development and communication skills.
- Very strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms, Databases, Design Patterns and Design principles
- Previous experience with strong development, design, and architecture of highly scalable and performant systems.
- Minimum of 9 years of development experience, preferably in Java/J2EE technologies.
- Hands-on experience with XML, Web Services, JMS, Rest and SQL.
- Experience in complex data analysis, data migrations, and system integration of software products into complex IT environments.
- Experience in writing/understand quality database queries or Stored Procedures that are reliable, scalable and reusable (preferably with Oracle and/or Postgres)
- Experience working with integration middleware or enterprise system bus (ESB) technologies such as, Spring or Apache Camel a plus
- Experience with Design Patterns and Enterprise Integration Patterns, including file transfers, messaging, routing, transforming, enriching, etc.
- Experience with source control software (Bitbucket), unit testing (JUnit), and build automation/CI (Jenkins).
- Experience in the health insurance industry (Payors) preferred.
- Development experience on the Linux operating system a plus
- Experience with agile development methodology such as SCRUM or Kanban.
- Experience with React, Kubernetes and Cloud technologies like Azure (preferably certifications) good to have.
