We are looking for a Manager, Quality Engineering to work with global teams and push the envelope on Software Quality automation and agility initiatives. This individual will be responsible for managing & mentoring a team of Engineers around the world who test HealthEdge’s applications and manage and develop build systems. We have modernized and consolidated much of our toolset in the development space and need to continue focusing on Quality. The Manager, Quality Engineering is expected to be a key driver to continue moving the teams to the next level. This position will report into Sr Director, Quality Engineering. 

 

What you will do: 

  • Manage team of Quality Engineers  
  • Define the technical strategy for automation tooling and infrastructure and work across Engineering to implement this 
  • Collaborates with Dev in all aspects of the automation development process from requirement gathering through iterative develop-and-test cycles.   
  • Supports continuous improvement processes, analyzing problems and recommending actions for effective resolution. 
  • Help coordinate technical leadership within Development, Quality, Operations and Release Management teams to enable effective automation. 
  • Be a change agent and drive a DevOps mindset of CI, CD and full automation within the product development teams. 
  • Enforce software engineering best practices and work with the Engineering Management team to forecast, plan and drive team productivity. 
  • Influences and cultivates innovation within Engineering groups. 
  • Collaborate with global team of engineers across a number of regional development centers 
  • Implement, collect, analyze and report team and project metrics which demonstrate business value and show continuous improvement 

 

What you bring: 

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering is required 
  • 7+ years of professional experience working in a software development environment with uniformly increasing responsibility 
  • 2+ years of leadership/management experience of Quality Engineers 
  • Expert in both UI test automation tools (Cypress, Selenium or similar) and API testing (using soapUI, RestAssured or similar) 
  • Experience with performance testing (Jmeter, K6 or similar). 
  • Experience using Continuous Integration environments, tools and automation to streamline QA processes (Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, Bamboo, or similar) 
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture and SOA best practices. 
  • Familiarity with SDLC practices of Agile (Lean, Scrum, XP or similar). 
  • Proficiency with Object Oriented languages (Java, C#, C++ or similar) 
  • Familiarity with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL or similar) 
  • You are self-managing and can adjust to competing priorities and allocate your time as necessary to get the job done 
  • Recruiting, training and mentoring Quality Engineers 
  • Very strong communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with others at all levels in the organization. 
  • Experience managing team of US based Quality Engineers. 
  • Experience in Healthcare domain a plus.
