Senior UX Designer
Position Summary:
As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will guide the design, build-out and optimization efforts of moving our main stake Claims Administration software, HealthRules Payor, to a new web-based UI. You will be working directly with customers, product management, agile engineering teams, and other stakeholders. A successful candidate will be able to discover, understand, and empathize with user needs, translate complex interactions into elegant solutions, and be able to communicate those solutions verbally, as well as through sketches, user flows, wireframes, and functional prototypes.
What you bring:
- BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction design, graphics, visual communications, product), HCI, or a related field is preferred
- 5+ years of experience designing web B2B products
- 3+ years in a lead capacity working across various cross-functional, agile software development teams
- 3+ years in the Healthcare Insurance industry is highly preferred
- Proven expertise with common UX software and tools (Sketch, InVision, Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud) with a deep understanding of typography, color, layout, and responsive design principles
- Ability to define and effectively articulate design ideas and solutions (verbally and in writing) and discuss business problems with internal and external stakeholders positively influencing outcomes
- Ability to manage change and effectively communicate to teams and to delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects end to end; demonstrated understanding and application of usability and accessibility best practices
- Strong focus on usability and interactive design
- Portfolio highlighting experience and prior work
What you will do:
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative user research and synthesize research findings into design priorities
- Lead design thinking sessions for the initial concepts and bring ideas to life
- Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into design
- Create and maintain digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes. Contribute to creating, organizing, and adapting our existing Design System
- Apply human centered design and rapidly test and iterate solutions
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams and consistently promote active collaboration, co-creation and continual alignment while building close relationships with customers and key collaborators
- Perform all job functions consistent with HealthEdge policies and procedures, including those which govern handling PHI and PII
- Champion the user throughout the build by continually promoting human-centered design methods, including research, validation, and the inclusion of user feedback
- Work with Product Owners for definition of done, negotiate scope and timelines to align delivery needs
- Conduct design validation and/or user testing with end-users
- Engage in feedback loops to raise the bar on quality through collaboration.
- Present designs to executive management and customers, and articulate UX based decisions.
