HealthEdge is offering internships at our GuidingCare unit. This will be a paid internship program that lasts for 12 weeks each summer.  The program allows students to learn about working in a software company and the different departments that collaborate to make our customers successful. Interns selected will work within their specific job function but also have seminars weekly that offer exposure to all departments including, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, IT Operation, Product Management, and Customer Support. In addition, interns will participate in workshops focused on resume writing, professional networking, interview preparation, and many more. There will also be some exciting social outings and volunteer opportunities throughout the summer.  Our goal is to have our interns leave with practical and applicable experience to build out their professional portfolio, meet some great connections and have some fun along the way!

 

What you will do:

  • Monitor in-progress product changes for upcoming releases, create release documentation.
  • Format materials and conduct quality control by proofreading and fact-checking deliverables.
  • Write technical and end user topics that will assist readers in using or implementing GuidingCare and related applications.
  • Create content using Madcap Flare.
  • Test application features and update documentation to be more accurate.
  • Interview Subject Matter Experts to learn details about features you are documenting.
  • Organize and streamline content file structure.
  • Proof-read documents.
  • Provide feedback and look for ways to improve our documentation.
  • Contribute to other administrative or special projects as needed.

 

What you bring:

  • Degree (completed or in progress) in technical writing, communications, journalism, English, or comparable field.
  • Basic word processing application capabilities such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong command of the English language; able to write clearly and edit content for spelling, grammar, and mechanics.
  • Detail-oriented and organized—adept at handling shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups and individuals.
  • Proactive, naturally inquisitive, and motivated to learn.
  • Can balance the need for direction with self-motivated efforts.
  • Confident enough to voice issues comfortably.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; treats people with respect, keeps commitments, inspires the trust of others, and works ethically and with integrity.
  • Fosters a fun, enjoyable working environment while performing excellent, diligent work.

 

Bonus points

  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with Madcap Flare
