Overview

Overview: 

The Sr. Business Analyst role within the Source division of HealthEdge will report directly to the Manager of Business Analysis and engage with clients, business partners and colleagues in nearly every segment of the sprint life cycle (Intake, Refinement, Development, QA, and Technical Writing). This important role will help expand our capabilities and streamline our process to allow for better feature implementation and product improvement. Additionally, the Sr. Business Analyst is expected to mentor members of the Business Analysis Center of Excellence via process-improvement subject matter expertise and claims workflow knowledge 

 

What you will do: 

  • Engaging both internally and externally to gather, analyze and document requirements of various types, packaging those requirements into usable formats and managing implementation of those requirements throughout the development process. 
  • Use your time-management, communication and relationship building skills to manage the input, routing, validation and implementation of requests, policy changes, data solutions and/or partnership integration items. 
  • Using strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills you will execute other key responsibilities such as:  
    • Assist scrum team and project managers in task identification and managing of User Stories throughout the SDLC 
    • Develop comprehensive acceptance criteria for all business requirements  
    • Implement core Agile methodologies into requirements-validation lifecycle 
    • Manage each assigned task and hold regular stakeholder meetings to keep all interested parties updated in task progress   
    • Act as liaison between client operations and sprint delivery teams to escalate project risks, confirm capacity expectations and manage priority shifts 
    • Communicate sprint-related bandwidth management and the prioritization of work items 

 

What you bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business administration, healthcare administration, computer science, or related fields from an accredited college or university  
  • 5+ years of work experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a software development or IT consulting environment  
  • 2+ years of experience in a health care or regulatory environment  
  • 5+ years of experience in a product development environment with emphasis in the Regulatory Compliance, Requirement Analysis, Planning and Testing phases 
  • Above average expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio 
  • Experience with engaging clients on subject matters related to Medicare and/or Medicaid payment policies, data, and software  
  • You come from a software development background with a unique addition of healthcare administration/medical reimbursement/payment knowledge (claims processing, clinical coding, claims adjudication, contracts management in healthcare). 
    • We realize that is a bit of a purple unicorn, and if that is you, great, we love unicorns.  
    • If that is not you, we still want to hear from you if you have product development experience/knowledge and a curiosity for learning new things and willing to take the initiative to absorb as much domain knowledge as possible. 
    • To succeed in this role, it will be critical that you bring flexibility, initiative, planning, organizing, analytical and strategic problem-solving skills to the table.   
       

Bonus Points: 

  • Knowledge of Medicare and/or Medicaid reimbursement methodologies (PPS, DRG, APC, RBRVS, etc.)  
  • Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, NDC, and ICD coding standards 
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) 
  • Base-level understanding of relational database management systems (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)   
  • Experience with software project tracking and change management tools (JIRA, Targetprocess, etc.) 
  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools (MicroStrategy, QlikSense, Tableau, Oracle BI) 
  • Experience with creating user interface (UI) mockups and wireframes 
  • Exposure to scripting or programming languages
