Staff Payroll Analyst


Position Summary: 

Responsible for administering the US payroll and tax function to ensure timely and accurate processing of pay and tax filings for a rapidly growing company.


What you will do:

  • Support biweekly and monthly payroll processing, ensuring payroll deadlines are met. Generate special “off-cycle” payroll calculations as needed
  • Analyze, audit, reconcile data to ensure smooth payroll processing and accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings and company deductions.
  • Responsible for wage garnishment processing, to include child support, tax levies and creditor garnishments.  Responding and submitting all required answers to garnishing agency.
  • Responsible for providing proper audit documentation to internal and external auditors for various audits including 401k, workers’ compensation.
  • Researches and remains current with payroll tax compliance laws and regulations, provides payroll tax awareness of applicable changes, and provides appropriate recommendations
  • Ensures monitoring, and resolving agency tax notices/tracers with 3rd party provider & government agencies
  • Oversees that all deadlines are met and that a high degree of accuracy is achieved on tax adjustments and filings
  • Ensures execution of Quarter Balancing & Year End processes with UKG Payment Services, including W2 annual tax reconciliation and processing
  • Setup new tax locations as needed, including applications for state and local accounts.
  • Active participation in consolidating payroll and closing tax accounts for acquisitions and mergers


What you bring:

Education and Experience: 

  • Eight (8) or more years’ experience of full-cycle payroll processing
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience of payroll tax
  • Experience with multi-state (minimum of 15) and local payroll processing for organizations of 750+ employees
  • Experience related to acquisitions and mergers, from due diligence to payroll consolidation
  • International payroll experience preferred
  • Familiarity with local taxes in OH and PA preferred
  • Experience utilizing UKG preferred
  • Minimum high school diploma required, Associate’s or higher-level degree preferred


Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Must be knowledgeable in payroll and payroll tax law and regulations
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to independently problem solve and reach resolutions to issues
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with internal and external customer
